These steps will guide you through troubleshooting excessive uneven movement of the press platen on the Goodnature X-1.
It is not uncommon in a two cylinder hydraulic system to have one cylinder begin movement slightly before the other. Your X-1 juice press has been designed to operate with these variations, and this should have no negative effect on the life of the press or the operation. But if there appears to be excessive uneven movement, there may be a few contributing factors.
1. Check to make sure your hydraulic fluid level is within 1” of the top of the tank with the press in the fully open position. If the oil level is low, check for leaks.
2. Check the four cylinder mounting bolts for proper tightness. To tighten these bolts you will need a 9/16” wrench and a 9/16” socket attached to a 6” extension.
3. Check to make sure the 1” nuts holding the cylinder rods to the platen are tight, as a loose nut may cause the platen to travel the rail unevenly. You will need a 1 1/2” closed-end wrench to accomplish this. Tighten the nut as tight as you can make it. This wrench may be purchased through our online shop.
