During the 3-Day DIY Juice Cleanse
If this is your first cleanse, we recommend finding activities that will fill your time such as yoga and light exercise. These activities are going to help keep your mind off of food (and snacking), while also making you active and getting you out of the house.
If you feel that you’re in need of a snack, any raw vegetables or raw cashews will be your best friend. If you feel that you need to break your cleanse for any reason, we recommend slowing integrating whole foods or superfoods into your diet and to staying away from anything processed.
After the 3-Day DIY Juice Cleanse
When you’re ending your DIY juice cleanse, you will want to slowly integrate solid foods back into your diet. You can do this by adding smoothies, eating watery fruit (watermelon, cantaloupe, etc.), and other soft foods (such as oatmeal) into your diet.
When bringing food back into your diet, keep track of what you’re eating so you’re able to pinpoint any food intolerances that you may have. The most common food intolerances are dairy and gluten – pay special attention to these items.
Through this post-cleanse process, remember to hydrate by drinking lemon water, herbal tea, green juice, and more. Being mindful about what you’re putting into your body is going to help you be successful in the long run. If you feel that you’re getting off track, no worries! You can always redo your 3-day cleanse to get back on the right track – we’re all human after all!
We hope this guide helps encourage and educate you during your juice cleanse journey!

Should I use a cold pressed juicer (slow Juicer)? I have two different types of Juicer machines. Will the recipe made up last the three days. Could you do it in grams. If not Ill get the ounces changed. Thank you.
Hi Lynney, a true cold press juicer that uses a press is best to retain nutrients, but a slow juicer (masticating) is next best (juice can last up to 3 days). I added links to the recipe titles so you can click on them and get the full recipes on our recipe archive. These are formulated for one 12 oz serving, so you would have to multiply ingredient amounts by 3 if making three days worth, but it does include other measurements including grams. Happy juicing!
You have “ Yield: Around 24 ounces” for each juice but you mention each juice should be 12-16oz when consuming. Based on the measurements you have, that wouldn’t get you through all 3 days. Are we supposed to make the recipe x 2 which would yield 48oz ?
You could, or you can download the free ebook here which has the single serve recipes (just multiply ingredients by how many servings you want to make at a time), also includes shopping list: https://www.goodnature.com/how-to-do-a-juice-cleanse-ebook
How much weight I can loose?
Hi Ray, that is going to depend on a lot of different factors and everyone is different!
Hello, What type of blender will work for this type of juicing?
Hi Heather, we recommend juicers for making juice and blenders for making smoothies. You can learn more about the types of juicers here: https://www.goodnature.com/blog/types-of-juicers
I see there’s 4 juices and the schedule has us consuming juice 6 times a day. Does this mean that each time you suggest having the juice that we drink the full 24oz each time?
We recommend drinking (6) 12-16 oz per day, depending on how you feel. Download our free juice cleanse ebook for more detailed info: https://www.goodnature.com/how-to-do-a-juice-cleanse-ebook
I don't have a scale, so I can't weigh my ingredients. Do the percentages refer to how much of a whole fruit is used? So for example, in the Sweet Golden Green Juice, does the 50% next to the pineapple refer to half of a whole pineapple? Or is it referring to a percentage of the juice itself? Thank you!
Hey Hannah, the percentages won't help you without a scale, but you can find these recipes on our recipe archive which have other methods of measurement like this one here: https://www.goodnature.com/recipes/cold-pressed-sweet-green-juice-recipe#ingredients
I was curious if it was practical to juice the night before each day? Or due to the nutrients, you have to do them the day of.
It really depends on the method of extraction. If you are using a true cold press like a Goodnature juicer, you can juice 3-5 days worth. If you are using a slow or masticating juicer, the night before should be fine. If you are using a centrifugal juicer, you should drink the juice immediately after making. For more information, see our article here: https://www.goodnature.com/blog/types-of-juicers
Do you have a recommendation for the best juicer machine? There are so many with pros and cons for each, it’s a bit confusing.
Hi Robin! It really depends on your needs and if you are juicing at home or at a business. Here is a great article explaining all of the different types of juicers. https://www.goodnature.com/blog/best-commercial-cold-press-juicers
Let us know if you have any other questions!
I love the cleanse recommendations and am planning to start in a couple of days. I did find something in your writing questionable, though. My question: Why are raw vegetables and raw cashews (crunchy foods) recommended for a possible solid food snack during the cleanse, and soft foods like watery fruits and oatmeal are recommended after the cleanse. How come soft food isn't the option during the cleanse if food is needed?
Hi Ashley, You can't really go wrong with raw fruits and veggies...if you want watermelon, go for it! I personally would hold off on cooked items when doing a raw juice cleanse, but do whatever you feel is right for your body and your cleanse!
How many servings is each juice recipe?
Hi Lindy, in this post each recipe yields about 24 oz (2 servings). If you haven't already, download my free juice cleanse guide which includes single serve recipes and a 3 day juice cleanse shopping list along with other tips and information. You can download it here: https://www.goodnature.com/how-to-do-a-juice-cleanse-ebook
I love this,
is there a shopping list you can post so i know how much of each item to buy?
Hi Sydney, Yes! The shopping list is included in the free guide, you can download it here: https://www.goodnature.com/how-to-do-a-juice-cleanse-ebook/
Hi, My husband and I are on day 3 of your juice cleanse and we love it! We feel way less bloated and are getting amazing sleep. Thank you for posting this! We will try it again.
I was wondering if there was a shopping list of exactly how much of each fruit and veggie to buy. Thanks!
Hi Lauren, Yes! You can download the complete guide and shopping list here: https://www.goodnature.com/how-to-do-a-juice-cleanse-ebook/
Hello! Looking forward to these recipes. For the one including the pineapple you state to remove the green (head) … does this mean we leave the rind (outer portion that’s spikey) and the core (inner hard part) when putting into our juicer?
Hi Katie, Yes, that is correct. If you are using a Goodnature juice press, you would grind and press both the rind and the core. If you are not using a Goodnature juicer, please follow the manufacturer's guidance on how to prepare produce for juicing on their equipment.
Hello there, do we add water to the recipe? I will be using a blender as I do not have an appropriate juicer. Thank you
Hi Celina, You shouldn't have to use any water, unless you want to!
Are you allowed to drink 1 cup of black coffee during the 3 day cleanse?
Hi Jeff, Typically the purpose of cleansing is to clear out toxins and reset the body. This usually includes eliminating caffeine. However, it really is up to you and what your purpose is for doing the cleanse. For example, if your goal is weight loss, then 1 cup of black coffee is probably fine, especially if you are used to drinking coffee every day. Happy juicing!
Hi, I noticed in the comments you made a grocery list for people that are interested. I was wondering if I am able to get a list of items needed. I plan on making the green machine juice as my 7:00 one. Thanks in advance!!
Hey Katelyn, The shopping list is included in the free ebook. You can download it here: https://www.goodnature.com/how-to-do-a-juice-cleanse-ebook/
When doing the 3-day cleanse with 2 people, should we each drink the juices for the amount ounces shown in the recipe. Example: morning kickstart recipe yields 12 ounces, should be double the recipe so we each drink 12oz?
Hey Jeff, Yes, you are correct. Each juice is 12 oz per serving, per person, so if two people are going to be drinking the same recipe, just double it!
What’s the serving size of each recipe?
Hi Nikki, On this post, these recipes yield about 24 oz (2 servings) each. If you would like to see recipes in single servings, check out our recipe archive here: https://www.goodnature.com/recipes/
I have been looking for some good juicing recipes to try at home. I am excited I found the good nature book. I drink cold pressed juice shots daily and I wanted to step it up a notch to do a 3 day cleanse. I think it will give my body a much need reset especially during the holidays. The book is called " Hot to do a juice cleanse by good nature." It will provide me with recipes, layout design, shopping lists, and much more. I cant wait to buy one ! -Gabi
That's awesome Gabrielle, happy juicing!
I see everything by ounces and a little lost. Is there a way to shop without weighing? Or know how many of what to get? For example 2 cucumbers versus ounces?
Hi Lacey, yes absolutely! From this article, click on the name of each recipe or go to: https://www.goodnature.com/recipes/ to see them on our recipe archive!
These recipes look amazing, thanks! I usually purchase my juice cleanses but I recently acquired a juicer so I'm going DIY, y'all! The company I purchase from has a ghost pepper juice (I think it's the 3rd juice of the day), and since my hubbie has a ghost pepper plant, I'm going to try it. Which juice would be best for it? Healthy Green Machine? And should I do a complete sub of the ginger? I cook a lot with cayenne (I'm a NOLA girl), so I can try that too, but I like the kick of the ghost pepper juice.
Hi Michelle, Congrats on getting your own juicer! You can find our recipe archive here: https://www.goodnature.com/recipes/ Filter by the Spicy category and you will find the recipes we have that call for peppers and you can use your ghost pepper instead! Let us know how it turns out!
Can’t wait to start, I’ve never been on this website
Hi there, just wondering while doing the cleanse is it okay to drink lemon water throughout the day?
Hi Jennifer, Yes, absolutely! Lemon water is great for cleansing 😄
I cannot eat ginger. Most of the recipes require it. Is there anything I can substitute for it or can I just leave it out?
Hi Melisa, You can just leave it out! It is usually added for a little spicy zing (as far as flavor goes). You could always add a little cayenne if you want to spice it up!
Hi there. Just wondering how often I can do this cleanse. About to do it for the first time. Thanks.
Hi Miriah, How often you juice cleanse is really a matter a preference and how your body feels! To learn more about juice cleansing, download my free ebook How To Do a Juice Cleanse here: https://www.goodnature.com/how-to-do-a-juice-cleanse-ebook/ Happy Juicing!
If you have a shopping list you could send that would be amazing. My husband and I plan to do it for 3 days. Don’t worry about the extra juice of our choice was thinking of making something up! No worries if you don’t have it!! Thank you!
Hi Jen! You can find the shopping list in my free ebook here: https://www.goodnature.com/how-to-do-a-juice-cleanse-ebook/ Happy juicing 😄
Can you make all the juice for the 3 days all at once? Or is it better to do it day by day?
Hi Carleen, That pretty much depends on the method of extraction you are using, as that will affect how quickly the nutrients will deplete. If you are using a true cold press juicer (like a Goodnature juicer) that uses a press to extract the juice, you can juice all 3 days worth in one day without worry of the nutrients or taste being affected. If you are using any other type of juicer, I would recommend making the juice on the day you expect to drink it. If you are using a centrifugal juicer, I recommend drinking it immediately after its made if possible. You can read more the types of juicers and the effect on juice here: https://www.goodnature.com/blog/types-of-juicers/
Hi! I was wondering if you were able to help me out with a shopping list please? I will do my 7pm juice as the “healthy green machine” juice. Also I can’t seem to find how many calories are in each juice. Can you please help me out? Thankyou
Hi Victoria, Here are the calories for the juices in this article: Sweet Green 150c Classic Beet 135c Healthy Green 60c Carrot Blend 125c You can find these and other juices on our new recipe section here: https://www.goodnature.com/recipes/ This new section includes recipe details like calories, flavor profiles, health benefits and pro tips. If you are doing a "juice only" cleanse, I would recommend consuming a juice every 2-3 hours (6-8 per day). To create a shopping list, write down the ingredients and the amounts for each recipe you will be using, figure out how many of each you will have per day, multiply those numbers by 3 (3 days) to give you the number of juices total for each recipe, then multiply the number of juices per recipe by each ingredient amount. Happy cleansing!
Could I trouble you for a shopping list if I were to repeat the green juice at the end of the day? Do you also know the approximate calories in this cleanse? Thank you!
Hi Rebecca, There are two green juices included in this post, so not sure which one you are looking to repeat. I did just update this post with links to the recipe posts in our new recipe section (click on juice titles) so you should be able to easily formulate your shopping list from the new recipe posts. I would also recommend testing each recipe on the juicer you will be using (if not using a Goodnature juicer) and adjust the ingredient amounts based on the amount of juice you get from your juicer. Each type of juicer will yield different amounts of juice. Also included in the recipe posts are the calories for each 12 oz serving. Hope this helps 😄 Happy Juicing!
Nice article! How about juices for weight loss? it has worked well for me, especially making it easier as I get less cravings. I’m sure you heard a number of times how vegetables and fruit are very important for your body, weight, and overall health. Alongside that, if you’re trying to achieve a summer body, you’ve most likely tried to change your diet, exercise, and cut out snacks and alcohol. If anyone is interested, I recently wrote this article about best juices for weight loss: https://energeticlifestyle.com/best-juicer-recipes-for-weight-loss/ My pick is the Mixed Green Juice... The recipe: · 1 bunch of chopped kale or spinach · 1 large orange, lemon or lime · 1 inch of fresh ginger or 2 tsp of honey · 1 cucumber · 2 Granny smith apples · 4 whole celery stalks I'm trying to stay extra healthy during the quarantine, so that means a lot more vitamins and fresh juices for me. What is your favorite juice to make? Take care everyone!
Hi Jonathan! Thanks for sharing your recipe and article with our readers 😄 We also have a few favorite recipes for weight loss, they can be found in this article here: https://www.goodnature.com/blog/juice-recipes-for-weight-loss/ Happy Juicing!
Are ounces before or after juicing? When adding them up they are more than 24 so I am assuming before juicing. Am I correct?
Hi Sophie, Yes, you are correct. The weight of the ingredients is before juicing and the yield is the amount of juice. 😄
Hello! This is sort of a TMI question lol but does this cleanse help you go to the bathroom more often?
Hi Alexandra! Yes, it sure does, hence the cleansing 😄
Hi there. Do you have a shopping list for this juice cleanse? Also how many ml. is 1 juice?
Hi Helena, Each juice recipe will yield approximately 709 ml (which is about 2 servings). Because we leave it up to you to decide which juice to have at 7pm, we do not have a standardized shopping list. However, I will send you a direct message to get more information on what you would like to do and can help you with a shopping list! 😄
Hi there, How many ounces are in a serving? It says the recipe yields 24 ounces, is that one serving or is one serving closer to 8 ounces? Thanks in advance!
Hi Rachel, We made this recipe based on (2) 12 oz servings, as this is a typical serving size for juice. Some people like to consume less or more, it really depends on the person!
Very sorry but can I trouble you to include the approximate percentage for each ingredient for the above recipes? 😄 I outsource the production of my juices to a company that uses Goodnature machines and they asked for the percentage.
Hi Jason, We have updated the article to include the percentages 😄 Have a great week!
