Iced tea, peaches, strawberries, and mint come together in this delicious, energy-boosting smoothie that is perfect for a hot summer day.
Ingredients
frozen peach | 4 oz | 113 g | 3/4 cup frozen peach slices |
frozen strawberry | 2 oz | 57 g | 1/3 cup frozen strawberries |
black or green tea leaves (we used black) | 0.075 oz | 2 g | 1/2 teaspoon |
water | 5 oz | 142 g | 2/3 cup water |
fresh mint | 0.1 oz | 3 g | 3 mint leaves |
lemon juice | 0.2 fl oz | 6 ml | 1/10 of a lemon |
honey (optional) | 1 oz | 28 g | 1 1/4 tablespoons |
Directions
-
Heat water to just under boiling, add black tea leaves and steep for five minutes. If you opt to use green tea leaves, you'll only need to steep for three minutes.
-
Drain tea leaves and place in the fridge for at least one hour or until cool (you can make this ahead of time and store in the refrigerator).
-
Cold press (or juice if you don't have a press) the lemons to make the lemon juice ingredient.
-
Add the tea and all of the other ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
Pro tips
-
Prefer raspberry peach to strawberry peach? Swap the frozen strawberries for frozen raspberries (or your favorite berry).
-
If you like nut butter in smoothies, try adding a bit of peanut butter or almond butter to the mixture before blending.
-
Want more protein? Toss in some (preferably unflavored) protein powder.
-
You can make this smoothie even more low calorie by omitting the honey, which will drop it down to only 80 calories per 12 oz serving!
