Healthy(ish) Jungle Juice Recipe
Our healthy, cold-pressed version of a popular college party drink. This (optional alcoholic) jungle juice recipe is all about fresh produce and no processed ingredients.
Ingredients
carrot | 6.5 oz | 184 g | 3 medium carrots |
pineapple | 4.8 oz | 136 g | 1 cup of pineapple chunks |
apple (red) | 4.4 oz | 125 g | 2/3 medium apple |
grapes (red) | 2.8 oz | 79 g | 16 grapes |
ginger | 0.5 oz | 14 g | 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger root |
beet (red) | 0.3 oz | 9 g | 1/10 beet |
lime | 1 oz | 28 g | 1/2 lime |
vodka, gin, or white rum | 1.5 oz | 43 g | one shot per serving |
Directions
Wash, prep, and weigh produce.
Prep the pineapple by removing the green crown from the pineapple and cut into chunks.
To prep the beets, remove the top ends and clean the bottoms thoroughly.
Quarter the lime (leaving skin on) and place directly into the press. If you don't have a juice press, peel the lime and juice with the rest of the ingredients.
Grind remaining ingredients together and press.
Mix in your alcohol of choice (optional).
Pro tips
If you have a sweet tooth, throw in some extra pineapple or your favorite natural sweetener.
We highly recommend using a white liquor for the alcohol. Flavored liqueur, like Malibu coconut rum or peach schnapps, goes especially well in this jungle juice.
This doesn’t have to be an alcoholic punch! Hold the shot for a delicious glass of fresh, cold pressed juice.
