When cold and flu season comes knocking, this tasty orange-pear-elderberry juice recipe will help you keep symptoms at bay.
Ingredients
elderberry juice | 1 oz | 28 g | 2 tablespoons |
pear (bosc) | 13.5 oz | 383 g | 2 medium pears |
orange (peeled) | 3.5 oz | 99 g | 2/3 medium orange |
ginger | 0.25 oz | 7 g | 1 inch ginger |
turmeric | 0.1 oz | 3 g | 1/2 teaspoon |

Directions
-
Wash produce thoroughly.
-
Peel the oranges and weigh the produce.
-
Quarter the lemons and place them directly into the press. If you do not have a juice press, peel the lemons and juice with the rest of the produce.
-
Grind and press/juice the remaining produce together.
-
Mix in elderberry juice.
-
Add 5-6 drops of sea buckthorn oil to each serving (optional).
Pro tips
-
If you want to sweeten it, try adding some raw honey, maple syrup or agave — but be sure to go easy on it!
-
If you want to use fresh elderberries instead of using an extract, you will need about 2.25oz of fresh berries per serving of this recipe. Freeze them, then thaw before putting them in your juice press, as this will increase the juice yield and ensure it will make the 1oz of juice needed for this recipe.
