Directions
-
Wash produce thoroughly.
-
Quarter the lemon (leaving skin on) and place directly into the press. If you don’t have a juice press, peel and juice with the rest of the ingredients.
-
Grind remaining ingredients together and press.
-
Mix the zinc, cinnamon and vitamin C into the juice.
Pro tips
-
Adding the cinnamon directly to the finished juice will give you little specs of the spice. If you rather not have the specs of spice, you can add the cinnamon directly to the press with the lemon.
-
No red apples? Add green apples for a more tart flavor profile.
-
Looking for even more nutrition during flu season? Add kale or leafy greens to turn this into a green juice recipe. Parsley in particular can add an extra spicy kick and immune-supporting phytonutrients.
-
Using a Goodnature press? No need to peel your citrus fruits, just quarter and place in the press! If you don’t have a juice press, peel the lemon and place into your juicer with the rest of the ingredients.
-
Consider adding fresh turmeric for a rich yellow color and extra immune system support. Alternatively, add beets or carrots for added beta-carotene and vitamin A!
