Let's Get Juicing
What is a commercial cold press juicer?
When looking into purchasing a juicer for a business, it’s very important to make sure the equipment you’re about to purchase qualifies as both commercial and cold press. Let’s define both of these below:
Commercial Juicer
A commercial juicer is a juicer designed specifically for business purposes. It’s very important that the juicer is both durable and commercially certified. Make sure to look for the following features:
- Commercial duty cycle
If the juicer overheats and needs to take a break too often, it will not hold up in a business environment where several hours of use are required to produce the volume of juice required for a business. Goodnature juicers have a 24 hour duty cycle, and never require taking a break under normal operating circumstances. Some other brands of juicers require a rest every hour or even every thirty minutes. - Commercial certifications
In the US, most health departments will require that the equipment is NSF certified. NSF is a certification standard that determines if food production equipment is safe for the operator and for the customers. For example, NSF certified equipment isn’t allowed to have any hard to clean areas where bacteria can harbor and contaminate the juice that will be served to customers. - Commercial volume
If you're shopping for a commercial juicer, it's likely that you need to produce juice in bulk. Most juicers are not designed for bulk juicing and can't keep up under commercial requirements. Whether you're looking to produce fifty bottles of juice or five thousand, Goodnature has got you covered.
Cold Press Definition
Although lots of juicer brands claim to be cold-press technology, they really are not. Only juicers that juice in two steps — grinding, and then pressing — are real cold-press juicers. Masticating or “slow” juicers are not actually cold press, since they don’t actually contain a press. They are a slow turning screw that pushes the fruit against a metal screen. To read more about the difference between a real cold press and a masticating juicer, check out the Goodnature difference.
The advantages of a true commercial cold press juicer include the fact that the juice contains more nutrients, higher yield, and a longer shelf life. Due to the process of slowly pressing the produce under thousands of pounds of force, the juice comes out clean, pure, and even tastes naturally sweeter since it contains almost no pulp at all, while other methods create juice that contains up to 30% pulp. The difference is very noticeable.
If you are considering purchasing a commercial cold press juicer, make sure it’s an actual press and not a masticating juicer. Your business will be much better off in the long run, since the juices will last longer and your customers will be happier with the final product. Goodnature is the industry standard choice for juice bars, juice delivery, grocery stores, and wholesale juice companies for this reason. Thousands of juice companies in over 80 countries use Goodnature commercial cold press juicers.
